The most popular questions to discuss mental health
There is no strict regulation. It all depends on your request and your need.
Recommended frequency:
* Once a week - ideal for regular work;
* once every 2 weeks - fairly regular work, and you can switch to this mode
after 6-12 months of therapy;
* once a month is optimal for maintaining an emotional state and if there is
no need to work out serious requests.
Consistency is important to achieve results!
There are such requests that can be settled in a few meetings, and there are
complex ones that require a long-term interaction of the client with a
psychologist!
Cancellation and postponement at least 24 hours before the start of the session! If for some reason you could not notify about your absence in time, or reschedule an appointment, this time is still paid in full. This rule is necessary in order to maintain the therapeutic boundaries between the psychologist and the client. Losses are incurred by a psychologist who can no longer offer free time for another client, or the opportunity for other activities.
The information provided by the client is strictly CONFIDENTIAL! Exceptions are case stories with an anonymous description (without names, surnames, etc.) for supervisors, as well as with the consent of the client for the case on the social network.
For consultation, it is enough to write to me in direct or telegram. You can briefly describe what your problem or difficulties are. I can ask additional questions - this is so that I can understand if I am suitable for working with your case. From now on, the privacy rule applies!
The session duration (both online and offline) is 50 minutes. Who is responsible for the outcome of the therapy? Responsibility for the result is divided as follows: 51% - the client, 49% - the psychologist. The client always has more, because in your free time from meetings you live a life and interact with different people, and therapy is only once a week and then 1 hour.
If you want to leave therapy, or feel that you have had enough for now, it is important to inform me about this, we will schedule 1-2 last sessions to complete the process, and not to interrupt it. It's just as important for a therapeutic relationship.
You can come to therapy without a clearly formulated request, with the approximate words "I'm uncomfortable, help me figure it out." A psychologist will guide you, ask the right questions and help you see the desired result. Without a request, it is impossible to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and determine the time of its termination. Making a request is almost half the way to solving the problem.
If you are late, the session ends on time from the appointed time (by being late you steal your time). If, suddenly, I am late, then the meeting is extended for the time of delay, or another time the session may last for this time.
Within 72 hours after the session, you should not make important decisions affecting your life (layoffs, divorce, relocation, etc.)
These rules will be useful not only to me as a psychologist, but also to you as a client. Psychotherapy is a special type of therapeutic relationship where the client bears part of his responsibility, including for the time that the psychologist provides him. The conditions and rules of therapy create healthy boundaries, form a sense of responsibility and adulthood.If the client does not agree with the rules, then we can discuss it.
Therapy can take place online in the zoom or in the office. You choose what is more convenient for you.
The frequency of meetings can be reduced as results are achieved and self-confidence increases. This can happen when you feel that you have already found a way to deal with problems on your own or when the problem has ceased to be relevant.
I work in an integrative approach, that is, I combine several modalities in my practice: cognitive behavioral therapy and a body-oriented approach, EMDR. I also use exercises and techniques from emotional-imaginative therapy and Gestalt approaches.
